""On Wednesday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m. I am hosting a virtual “Back to School” meeting.  The target audience for this meeting is freshman parents.  However, anyone is welcome to attend.  The link to the meeting will be posted on our website the day of the meeting, and we will record the meeting and post to the website.

I will send out a more comprehensive email regarding logistics the week before school starts, and I will review those things at the virtual meeting on August 23.  We are also working on a more comprehensive parent and student handbook which we hope to have completed by the end of next week.  This will include a course catalogue and sample 4-year plans as many of our returning parents have requested.

Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors - Go get your Laptop
This is the last week for sophomores, juniors and seniors to get their laptops before school starts.  Sign up ASAP!

To make the process smooth and seamless, we are asking that students pay the $25.00 insurance fee ahead of time and bring a screenshot of their receipt as well as the laptop agreement. These items are in the Google form itself!

We are in desperate need of volunteers for our School Store.  Haven’t volunteered before or missed the training?  You can still help!  There will be an experienced person there to help you.  Pro tip - this is a great way to see your kids during the school day.  The energy is electric, and you will have lots of fun while volunteering.  Reminder to get VIPS certified!

Teachers: Don’t miss out on the $100 Teacher Supply reimbursement!  The PTO will reimburse every Heights High teacher up to $100 for classroom supplies. All you need to do is fill out the Teacher Supply Reimbursement Form, which can be found on our Forms and Documents page, attach your receipts, and submit online via the form. 

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is always needed! 

All APPROVED background checks in the HISD VIPS (Volunteer In Public Schools) expired on July 31, 2023. 

You have to renew your application every school year.

Teachers/Staff….this is for you!  The PTO will pay up to $1000 for a teacher grant to support you and your class needs.  The online teacher grant request form will officially open up on August 15th! The Class of 2025 is brought back this summer fundraiser! Order a pizza kit from Little Caesar's between now and August 25th and $6 from every kit ordered will go to the Class of 2025. Last year we sold around 40 pizzas today we have only sold 9!

Save the date for our Spirit Night at Fajita Pete's - Sept 26. In a rush? You can also do pick up/take out. Be sure and mention "Heights C/O 2026" and 15% of all $$ goes to our class.
