| Save the Date - PTO General Meeting, September 17th |
Next Tuesday, September 17th, is our first General PTO meeting of the year! The meeting will be held at 6 pm in the Teaching Theater. Parking will be available in the staff parking garage off of 14th street. You do not have to be a member to attend. We’ll be voting on updated By-Laws in addition to receiving updates from our PTO Chairs. Following the meeting will have Student Club representatives each speak briefly about their clubs. It’s a great way for you to be able to talk to your students about new things for them to try. |

| The Bulldog Library Team Needs Volunteers! |
Join our team! The Bulldog Library Team (BLT) consists of parents and community members committed to volunteering in the library. The time has finally come to volunteer at the Heights High School Library. Ms. Garza and Mr. Maizumi are eager to have volunteers to assist the good work they are already doing. HHS Library is in need of volunteers in the morning only through September, with a start date of September 9. The shift is from 7:45-10:30, and we need 2 people per shift. Please make sure you are a VIPS approved volunteer and sign up here. Be sure to sign in at the Main Office before heading to the library. If you have any questions, please email Dawn Cole.

| MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE! |
Are you registered to vote? There is still time to register! Voter eligibility information is available here. To that end, here are some ways to advocate and be informed! - The HISD Board of Managers has its regular meeting on Thursday, September 12 at 5pm. The meetings are public. The agenda is available here, and the video is available on many platforms including HISD’s YouTube channel. Anyone can register to speak at a Board meeting. Instructions are available here. (Pro tip: Sign up to speak on an agenda item to be prioritized and minimize waiting time.)
- The Texas State Board of Education has meetings September 10-13. Agendas and livestreams are available here.

| HEIGHTS HS PTO MEMBERSHIP |
We invite all parents, family, guardians, teachers and students to join the Heights High School Parent Teacher Organization - HHS PTO. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join! HHS PTO works very hard raising money to fund services, programs, and materials that are not covered in the school budget. All of the money raised by the PTO, including membership fees, stays 100% at our school. It is *not* mandatory for members to attend meetings or volunteer, but members are very welcome to contribute in a way that works for you! We have general meetings throughout the year. Exact dates and times of our general meetings will always be posted to Facebook and Instagram and in our PTO newsletter. There are six membership levels for the 2024-2025 HHS PTO. Please join us today! Please contact membership@heightspto.org if you have any questions or concerns. |
