Bulldog Families,

A week from today we will have completed the first day of the 2024-2025 school year!  I know it’s a day filled with nerves an excitement…as some of you are nervous about sending your child off to the very first day of high school and some of you are a little teary eyed about sending yours off to their last first-day of high school! Our goal is to make sure that whatever part of the high school journey your student is on, they come home in a week telling you that their first day was great (or at least when you ask how their day was you get a “fine”)!

 It was great to see more than 400 of our newest bulldogs last week for Pup Camp and we are putting the finishing touches on everything to prepare to see them all on August 12, 2024 at 8:25. 

With a week to go, I wanted to touch base with our school community a little earlier with some reminders and assurances.

First, if you are receiving this email your student is currently enrolled in Heights High School for the 2024-2025 school year.  If you are not attending Heights because you have moved or you accepted a magnet seat elsewhere, please reply to this email to let us know.  Unless you come and withdraw your student, we cannot remove you from this email list until the student is dropped on the first day of school.  However, notifying us now will allow us to drop your child’s schedule which helps us balance class sizes before school starts.

On Wednesday, August 7 at 5:30 p.m. I am hosting a virtual “Back to School” meeting.  The target audience for this meeting is freshman parents.  However, anyone is welcome to attend.  The link to the meeting will be posted on our website the day of the meeting, and we will record the meeting and post to the website.  I know there were some issues with links for course selection information, and we are doing our best to make sure this doesn’t happen again. 

Reminder that students should be here by 8:25 and the school day ends at 4:10.   If you have a bus route, you should have received information about that route from transportation. 

I am truly excited for the school year to come, and I look forward to seeing our Bulldog families soon!

The PTO Store will host a Volunteer Training session on Wednesday, 8/7, 9:00-10:00 a.m. Working the school store during lunch is a great way to get involved and see the students in action! Please complete your VIPS registration and sign-up for training and volunteer shifts.

We invite all parents, family, guardians, teachers and students to join the Heights High School Parent Teacher Organization - HHS PTO. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join!

HHS PTO works very hard raising money to fund services, programs, and materials that are not covered in the school budget. All of the money raised by the PTO, including membership fees,  stays 100% at our school.

It is *not* mandatory for members to attend meetings or volunteer, but members are very welcome to contribute in a way that works for you! We have general meetings throughout the year. Exact dates and times of our general meetings will always be posted to Facebook and Instagram and in our PTO newsletter.

There are six membership levels for the 2024-2025 HHS PTO. Please join us today!

Students can now check their AP and IB exam scores from spring 2024.  AP exam scores are available by logging into the student’s College Board account.  IB students received an email from Ms. Nelson with instructions for logging into their IB account with a unique code.
