Hello Bulldog Families, Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I hope you are as excited about the school year as we are. The PTO is already working full speed ahead to support the students, teachers, and staff at Heights High School. We are thrilled to play a part in helping Heights become the top rated comprehensive high school in HISD! 2023-2024 was a successful year for our PTO. We increased our membership, celebrated our teachers and staff through appreciation events and grants, supported senior activities, provided scholarships to fifteen graduating seniors, provided funds for activities like Go Texan Day, and had lots of fun (and raised a record amount of money!) at our annual Bulldog Bash fundraiser. We have similarly big plans for this year. To accomplish our goals, we need volunteers and donations. Please consider lending your time, talents, and/or funds to the PTO. Here are some upcoming opportunities: - Volunteer at the PTO store during lunch. It is a busy job, but a great opportunity to see the pulse of Heights during lunch! If you are interested in volunteering at the store, please sign up here.
- Join the PTO! We want to hear from you. Please join the PTO and come to meetings to let us hear your thoughts. Memberships are $5 for teachers/staff and $25 to $500 for parents/community members, with extra amounts paid over the basic membership going to support the PTO’s endeavors.
Another thing that the PTO does is work to foster community. To stay connected and be aware of PTO opportunities, here’s another reminder to subscribe to our newsletter. We’re on social media too! We are most active on Facebook, but we are also on Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp for our Spanish speakers. There is a Facebook group for the Class of 2025, Class of 2026, Class of 2027, and Class of 2028 (please answer the questions in order to be accepted into the group!). There is also information on our website at Heightspto.org. FInally, thank you to all the staff of Heights High School for choosing to be at Heights and for making a difference every day for our students. We hope you know how much you are appreciated. | Transportation Update from Ms. Hampton |
We know some of you may not yet have information about your student’s bus stop and route. If you have been told your child is eligible for transportation and you have not received bus stop and route information, please call our campus at 713-865-4400 and ask for Ms. West or Mr. Corona. They will help you find the route and stop that is closest to your student’s address. We thank you for your patience, and we are confident that once bus routes are finalized later in the school year, you will have access to the kind of reliable transportation your student deserves. Attached are the current routes assigned to Heights High School along with their stops. For the first two weeks, if you are eligible for transportation your student can use the route and stop closest to your house.

All APPROVED background checks in the HISD VIPS (Volunteer In Public Schools) expired on July 31, 2024. You have to renew your application every school year. | HEIGHTS HS PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP |
We invite all parents, family, guardians, teachers and students to join the Heights High School Parent Teacher Organization - HHS PTO. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join! HHS PTO works very hard raising money to fund services, programs, and materials that are not covered in the school budget. All of the money raised by the PTO, including membership fees, stays 100% at our school. It is *not* mandatory for members to attend meetings or volunteer, but members are very welcome to contribute in a way that works for you! We have general meetings throughout the year. Exact dates and times of our general meetings will always be posted to Facebook and Instagram and in our PTO newsletter. There are six membership levels for the 2024-2025 HHS PTO. | Bulldog Booster Burgers - August 18th! |
Please help support the Cheer Booster Clubwith the purchase of a BURGER PLATE! Burger plates will include a burger or a cheeseburger (with all of the fixins on the side), chips and a cold drink. Please make sure to place your order and select burger or cheeseburger on the Google Form! Burgers are pre-sale and payment may be made as posted on the flyer below (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App). We will have some extra burgers for sale the day of the event but we really need everyone to try to make a presale order to purchase food accordingly. Burger plate pick up will be from 11am-2pm at 801Heights Blvd, 77007.
